How the comparison workspace works

Hash Racing’s Formula 1 telemetry workspace compares two archived laps from the same session. You choose the meeting, session, drivers, and laps, then run one explicit Compare. Nothing is preselected.

What the channel groups answer

After Compare, seven synchronized panels show lap delta plus speed, brake, throttle, gear, RPM, and DRS over distance. Use them to see where the gap opened or closed and which driver inputs moved with it.

Choosing comparable laps

Prefer clean flying laps with telemetry available. Watch for pit out/in, deleted, or inaccurate tags in the lap list—those laps often distort a head-to-head read.

Same-elapsed-time track replay

The track map places both cars at the same elapsed time into each lap, not merely at matching distance. That keeps the replay honest when one driver is faster through a sector.

Post-session archive data only

The product is post-session. It reads complete FastF1 archive sessions only—no live timing, disposable cache fallback, or sample telemetry.

How to read F1 telemetry data walks through lap delta and the car channels with this workspace.
